"Cutco" Tony Carlston

January 31st, 2009 Becky No comments

Who is “Cutco” Tony? Tony is a young and successful sales professional, who took a household product-Cutco Cutlery-and turned it into a Business 2 Business branding tool.
“My advice to anyone starting out in the sales profession would be to see the right prospects and have fun with your job. By that I mean, focus on prospective clients that are most likely to use or need your services or product and enjoy what you do, or get a different job. There’s something very special about enjoying going to work everyday.”

Tony is also one of i Take The Lead’s Special Guest Speakers. www.itakethelead.com When Tony presents, is he teaching us how to sell Cutco…or any other product? Even though he’s more than qualified for that kind of presentation, Tony, instead, donates his time to help his fellow i Take The Lead members become more proficient at growing their team and developing processes for gaining more qualified referrals.

If you are interested in hearing Tony, he’ll be speaking at several i Take The Lead meetings in the Portland/Vancouver area. As a matter of fact, Tony is schedule to speak February 19th at our SE Portland i Take The Lead referral group that meets every Thursday at Noon at Woodstock Wine and Deli, 4030 SE Woodstock Blvd in Portland.

We are so excited to announce that I Take The Lead http://www.itakethelead.com/ has taken on…yet…another business partner in Denver CO. Mark Kurowski, who currently resides in the Denver area with his family, has taken on the challenge of making I Take The Lead a common name in the business world in the state of Colorado, starting with Denver. Why are we so excited!!!????
Let me share some information about Mark’s background, and I think you’ll get the picture!
As a kid growing up in Chicago, Mark played all the usual team sports. He also took up boxing and wrestling. Eventually, he became an expert in several forms of martial arts and served a distinguished stint in the Marine Corps. “It seems I always have to be doing something, learning something, accomplishing something,” he says. In addition to his intense physical pursuits, Mark challenged his brain relentlessly. He earned a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign. Then, seeking further challenges, he earned a juris doctor degree from George Washington University Law School in Washington, D.C., and an M.B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley. To say this engineer-lawyer-businessman has an impressive résumé is an understatement. He’s always on the go—always pursuing higher levels of achievement.

Have a MORE Prosperous 2009!

2009 is here….finally! Many of us are tired of hearing about all the problems of the world….and tired of trying to figure out how we are going to make that next car payment. If you would like to see your sales soar….if you would like to have your business become more prosperous, I recommend a coach, in addition to a great referral team.
i Take The Lead (http://www.itakethelead.com/) has several very talented professionals who attend our meetings and provide information; this information helps business owners increase their bottom line.
We are starting the 2009 New Year out with a bang and a big line up of speakers. For starters, we’ve invited Kaya Singer to come speak at our Tualatin Tuesday 7:30 AM meeting on January 6th. This group meets every Tuesday at 7:30 AM at Shari’s, 19365 SW Martinazzi Ave in Tualatin.
Kaya Singer (http://www.awakeningbusiness.com/) who offers coaching programs for micro businesses, will be sharing with us the eight parts to any healthy ‘real’ business. As Kaya explains: “I learned the hard way how to turn my ‘limping’ business into a real business. You can too….but Kaya can save you heaps of time!!!” Kaya also shares, “I recently realized that owning my own businesses have been the most intense personal development program I could ever imagine. It has pushed me kicking and screaming into confronting my fears and feelings of inadequacy, like nothing else ever could. Painful but incredibly rewarding. Taking risks and getting out of my comfort zone is what has allowed me to go from nothing to owning a successful small business.”
Do plan to come to our meeting this Tuesday. The meeting will only last an hour, and you’ll have the opportunity to do a short introduction. You may even make some new friends!
